KDF-55 granular media cartridge uses high-purity copper-zinc redox alloy to remove up to 99% of chlorine and reduce heavy metals including lead, mercury, and arsenic. Unlike carbon, KDF media is bacteriostatic — inhibiting the growth of bacteria, algae, and fungi within the cartridge. Ideal as a first carbon stage in multi-stage under-sink or whole-house systems.
